Visit and Enjoy a Selection of Our Wines
Each weekday morning and afternoon we host 10 or fewer guests in a setting as comfortable as an at-home wine tasting. During a visit to Shafer of about 90 minutes, guests learn about our vineyards, approach to winemaking, and history during a relaxed, sit-down tasting of five wines including our signature wine Hillside Select. The tasting visit is $45 per person.
ARRANGING YOUR TASTING VISIT -- PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
- VISITS ARE BY PRIOR APPOINTMENT ONLY. For fastest response time, request a visit using the link to our online form below.
- Tasting visits are scheduled at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday (no weekends or holidays). Please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time.
- At the time of reservation we charge your credit card the tasting fee of $45 per person. If you need to cancel your visit and would like to receive a refund, please give us at least 48 hours notice.
- If a guest’s name is currently active on one of our mailing lists, the tasting fee is waived for them and one member of their party. "Currently active" means that within the past 12 months you have ordered at least one bottle of wine from one of our mailing list offerings.
- It is always a good idea to call a few days ahead of your visit to check on which wines are available and on their respective per-bottle purchase limits, as these do change throughout the year.
- Wine purchases during your visit are processed in addition to the tasting fee.
- WE CANNOT ALLOW ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 21, WHICH INCLUDES INFANTS AND CHILDREN. LIKEWISE, WE CANNOT ALLOW PETS.
RETAIL SALES AT THE WINERY
Retail sales of currently available wines are offered Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Because we only offer tastings by appointment, we do not provide tastings as part of the sales process.
