Shafer chosen by Wine & Spirits magazine as a 2009 “Winery of the Year”

14th year Shafer has received top honor

Shafer Vineyards is pleased to announce that the winery has been selected as a “Wine & Spirits Top 100 Winery of the Year.”

Shafer will be featured in the magazine’s November “Buying Guide” issue with a spotlight on 2004 Hillside Select, which is named a “Top 100” wine of the year.

This is the 14th year since 1991 that Shafer Vineyards has been named a top winery of the year by Wine & Spirits. Only four other wineries in the world have been honored as frequently.

Shafer will pour wine at the 6th annual Wine & Spirits “Top 100 Tasting,” to be held Wednesday, October 14, 2009, The Galleria at San Francisco Design Center. This not-to-be-missed event features the wines of the top wineries of the year as well as a feast of oysters, hand-crafted salumi, and the best of local cuisine.
